About Judy Horton

Judy has worked for Yates for sixteen years as the Yates Communication Manager.  She is the editor of Yates Garden Guide (the best selling gardening book in Australia and New Zealand) as well as the Yates newsletters and gardening calendar.  Judy has written two gardening books and many articles for gardening magazines as well as appearing as a regular on Australia’s Channel 9 Show Garden Gurus and talkback radio.

Originally a schoolteacher, Judy studied horticulture in the early 1980s and is a member of the Australian Institute of Horticulture and the Horticultural Media Association. Judy also conducts training sessions for retailers of Yates products and gives talks to garden groups.

She is married to Rob and has two children and five grandchildren.  She still occasionally gets time (although never enough!) to enjoy her own rather untidy garden on 5 acres at Dural.  Her lifetime’s ambition is to get rid of the privet along her watercourse (she calculates she’s slightly more than halfway there and hopes she lives long enough to finish the job!)
